Material choices affect the result

An artwork’s medium includes the materials or methods used to make it. Pencil, wet ink, clay, and cut paper offer different possibilities and constraints. The same subject can look different in different media. Before choosing a material, consider the intended marks, surface, durability, and setting rather than assuming one medium is always superior.
