Size and relationships

Scale concerns size in relation to a reference, such as a viewer or a setting. Proportion concerns the size relationships among parts. A sculpture twice as tall as a doorway has a large scale relative to that doorway. Enlarging only its hands changes the proportions within the figure. Neither choice is automatically an error.
