A habitable zone is not proof of life

A star’s habitable zone is a range of orbital distances where liquid water could exist on a planet’s surface given a suitable atmosphere. Being in this zone does not prove that a planet has water or life. Atmosphere, pressure, stellar activity, and the planet’s history also matter.
