Comparing orbital periods

For objects orbiting the same dominant central mass, a larger orbital semimajor axis corresponds to a longer orbital period. This is the relationship described by Kepler’s third law. The central mass also matters, so comparing orbits around different stars requires more information than distance alone.

Practice

Two small planets orbit the same star. Which generally takes longer to complete an orbit?
