Population growth and carrying capacity

Exponential growth assumes a constant per-capita growth rate under unlimited conditions. Logistic growth includes reduced per-capita growth as population size approaches an environment's carrying capacity. Carrying capacity can change when resources or conditions change. At carrying capacity in the simple logistic model, net population growth is zero. Births and deaths can still occur and balance each other. A stable population size does not mean every individual stops reproducing.
