From cells to organ systems

In multicellular organisms, cells can specialize for different jobs. A tissue is a group of cells working together. An organ contains multiple tissue types that cooperate in a function. Several organs can work together as an organ system. The heart contains muscle, connective, nervous, and other tissues. It works with blood vessels in the circulatory system. These levels describe organization: a single organ is not made of only one kind of cell.
