Include the unit

A measurement needs both a value and a unit. A drawing marked only with a length can be misunderstood if one person assumes centimeters and another assumes millimeters. Record the unit, the measurement location, and the needed precision. More decimal places do not make an inaccurate measuring method accurate. Check that the tool suits the feature being measured.
