Improve within the feasible choices

Optimization seeks better performance against an objective while respecting constraints. Reducing a stand’s mass is not a useful improvement if it no longer holds the required book. First identify designs that meet the limits, then compare the objective. A result also depends on assumptions and priorities; changing them may change which design is preferred.
