Distinguish energy from its rate

Power is the rate of energy transfer. Two devices may transfer the same amount of energy over different times. The one completing that transfer in less time has higher average power. A power rating alone does not give the energy used during a session; operating time and actual power matter too. Keep the amount and the rate separate when comparing devices.
