Describe performance over time

Reliability concerns performing a required function for a stated duration under stated conditions. One successful trial does not establish performance through repeated use. A hinge may work initially but wear after many cycles. Define the conditions and failure criterion, then gather evidence suited to the expected use. Repairability is related to service but is a different question from whether failure occurs.
