Look beyond the total number of organisms

Biodiversity includes variation within species, among species, and among ecosystems. A field containing many individuals of one species is not automatically more diverse than one containing fewer individuals from several species. Different measures capture different aspects of diversity. State what was counted and how the samples were collected before comparing places.
