Distinguish evidence from reconstruction

A geological cross-section represents an interpretation of structures beneath a line on a map. Surface observations, boreholes, and geophysical data may constrain it, but the space between observations must often be inferred. Different models can fit limited evidence. Marking uncertain boundaries helps readers distinguish measurements from reconstruction.
