Connect magma properties to eruptions

Volcanic behavior depends on factors including magma viscosity, gases, and pathways to the surface. Viscosity is resistance to flow. More viscous magma can hinder gas escape, helping pressure build under some conditions. No single property determines every eruption, and describing a volcano’s past behavior does not predict an exact future eruption time.
