The Silk Roads as networks

The Silk Roads were interconnected routes linking communities across Eurasia, rather than one road used by every traveler. Merchants, migrants, and religious communities moved goods and ideas through many intermediaries. Objects and beliefs changed as people adapted them to local settings.
