How an ending changes earlier scenes

An ending can resolve a conflict, leave questions open, or make earlier details look different. Returning to an opening image may create a contrast between beginning and end. An open ending is not automatically incomplete or unsuccessful. Ask what is resolved, what remains uncertain, and how the final arrangement affects the whole work.
