How much can the narrator know?

Point of view shapes which experiences and information readers can access. A third-person limited narrative typically follows one character’s perspective rather than freely reporting every mind. Perspective can shape uncertainty and sympathy. Using third-person names or pronouns alone does not prove that a narrator knows everything.
