Respect participants while gathering evidence

Research with people requires appropriate ethical review and safeguards suited to the study. Participants need understandable information about participation, including how to withdraw, and their data need protection. A study’s value does not make unnecessary pressure acceptable. Examine the question, consent process, risks, and privacy together rather than treating a signature as the entire ethical process.
