Recognizing differs from recalling
Recognition involves identifying something encountered before, such as choosing a familiar name from a list. Recall requires producing information, such as naming a person without options. A learner may recognize a definition on a page yet struggle to explain it independently. Choose a practice task that resembles the skill you want to assess.
