Consistent does not always mean appropriate

Reliability concerns consistency of measurement under relevant conditions. Validity concerns evidence supporting the intended interpretation and use of a score. A task may produce consistent scores but reflect reading difficulty as well as the attention process it is meant to assess. Consistency alone cannot establish that the intended interpretation is justified.
