Restrict the group being considered

A conditional proportion uses a restricted denominator. Of 100 visitors, 40 arrive in the morning. Of those 40, 10 cycle. Among morning visitors, the cycling proportion is 10 divided by 40, or 25%. Dividing by all 100 answers a different question about the share who both cycle and arrive in the morning.
