Look beyond one average

A distribution describes how values are arranged, including their center, spread, and shape. Both 4, 5, 6 and 0, 5, 10 have a mean of 5. Their spreads differ. Reporting only the mean hides that difference. Examine the individual values or a suitable chart alongside summary statistics.
