Understand what a p-value conditions on

A p-value is calculated assuming a specified null hypothesis and model. It describes how probable a test statistic at least as extreme as the observed one would be under those assumptions. It is not the probability that the null hypothesis is true. Interpret it alongside design, effect estimates, uncertainty, and the full analysis plan.
