Check your camera

Please check your camera settings and allow to use

Use this page to confirm that your browser can access your camera before a ConnectionOcean video session. The steps below cover the most common setup issues language learners run into.

How to test your camera before a call

Open this page a few minutes before your language exchange call. Start the camera check, confirm your face is centered, and check the lighting. A quick preview helps you fix awkward angles or a dark room before you join a live conversation on ConnectionOcean.

What to do if the camera does not appear

If no preview appears, click Start Camera Check again after granting permission. Confirm that a camera is connected, reload the page, and try another browser if the issue continues. Built-in laptop cameras usually appear automatically once permission is granted.

Browser permission troubleshooting

Your browser must allow camera access for this site. If you blocked permission earlier, open your browser site settings for ConnectionOcean and enable the camera. Then reload this page and start the check again.

Check whether another app is using the camera

If another app is using your camera, close video apps, browser tabs, or meeting tools that may still be active. On macOS and Windows, only one app can use the camera at a time in many cases. Reload this page after closing the other app.

Privacy note

The preview on this page is processed locally in your browser. ConnectionOcean does not upload your camera test video to our servers as part of this check.
